This is an alpaca wool handbag (purse) from the Lake Titicaca area, Puno-Peru, in the South American Andes. Woven in alpaca wool with a strap and edging for extra strength. This great bag measures 9" wide and 8.5" tall. The strap is 48" long from end to end.

Andean Handbags made of Alpaca wool. In its weave a technique is used that is an authentic legate of the Inca culture. That is to say, these bags are made using rustic wood weaving machines similar to the ones used by our Inca ancestors. These pieces shows a Cuzcan style design of its figures and the use of color, which are typical of the region.
